Before I get back to my regularly scheduled programming, I wanted to share the pile of things that I announced last week. It has been a bit of a whirlwind!
Worriers released a new song called Big Feelings that you can hear streaming all over the place now. We also posted a video that I made for it that features some seriously badass rollerskating. We tracked down a bunch of incredibly talented women, non-binary and queer folks and let loose at Garavanza Skate Park in Los Angeles. I made the video because it’s the kind of thing I want to see more often and I’m committed to using whatever little platform we have here to show the things that I wish I knew existed sooner. Things that I can relate to, that YOU can maybe relate to, so I really hope you enjoy this one.
If you’re in the LA area and want to find folks to skate with, maybe one of these groups is for you! Check out Queer Skate Alliance and Quad Squad.
I’m also hosting a benefit pop-up and listening party at Junior High on March 1, from 1 to 5pm. It’s FREE and ALL AGES! You can listen to the record before it comes out and I’ll be playing some songs solo around 4:30pm.
I’ll have copies of the new record early, other Worriers tour-only merch, as well as zines and prints from folks like Mikaela Jane Palermo, Jennie Cotterill (Bad Cop / Bad Cop) Marlee Grace, Cassia Lupo, Augusta Koch (Gladie, Cayetana), Jason Roy, Tiny Splendor, Razorcake and more! All proceeds from the prints and things goes to the mental health charity, Tiny Changes. Stop by if you’re in the area!
We also announced that we’re playing the Booze Cruise Festival both in Bristol and Hamburg this summer. I wonder what we should do in between those two things?
Later this week I’ll be sending out an interview with Marisa Dabice from Mannequin Pussy, so stay tuned. Thanks for reading!
